Eileen Goldsen (b. May 16, 1941, New York City) is an American-born pop singer and songwriter who became a yé-yé icon in 1960s France. Career Highlights Daughter of music publisher Mickey Goldsen; UCLA languages grad (1963, French focus). Moved to Paris 1964; signed to AZ via Europe 1's Lucien Morisse; married producer Jack Robinson (1965). Breakthrough: "Une grenouille dans le vent" (1965); multilingual "Ces bottes sont faites pour marcher" (1966, French "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'" cover with Mickey Baker). Hits: "Prends ta guitare," featured in Jean-Marie Périer's "Photo du siècle" (1966 yé-yé group shot). Later Path Recorded until 1969 (e.g., "Love Is Strange"); brief 1982 return ("Galactic Fred"). Founded French Fried Music publishing in Paris; retired from performing. Yé-yé/pop specialist in folk/American adaptations; session ace Baker added R&B flair.
