Every first thursday of the month, we gather at Koda to discover music we may not otherwise had been able to find. Whether you’re a lifelong music nerd or just someone who wants to hear something new, you’re welcome. Each participant brings one song that they feel is connected to the theme. We listen together on Koda’s sound system, giving each track our full attention. Afterward, we talk about what we heard: what moved us, surprised us, or stood out to us. Pick a song, and bring it on vinyl, cd or usb (or make sure it can be streamed at Koda through Tidal or Youtube). Songs will be picked at random, we try to play everyone’s songs within the time we have. We will ask you to introduce the song beforehand (which is optional). If you don’t want to bring a song and just want to come and listen, that’s also fine!
