Harpist en componist Remy van Kesteren presenteert zijn nieuwe liveproject THREADS. In deze voorstelling brengt hij zijn klassieke achtergrond, zijn internationale solocarrière en de elektronische muziek waarmee hij ook de popwereld bereikte, samen. Zoals hij zelf zegt: “Ik wil niet meer kiezen tussen die werelden, maar ze juist verbinden.” De harp staat daarbij centraal. Het is het instrument waarmee Remy al jaren bekendstaat als een van de meest vernieuwende musici in zijn vak, en vormt de rode draad door de voorstelling. Met loops, elektronica en zijn virtuoze spel creëert hij een gelaagde en dynamische sound. Samen met licht- en beeldkunstenaar Jurjen Alkema ontstaat zo een sterke audiovisuele ervaring. THREADS is voor liefhebbers van klassieke muziek én van pop en elektronica, en voor iedereen die nieuwsgierig is naar nieuwe combinaties. Remy werd in 2025 bekroond met De Podiumprijs en door de jury geprezen als een artiest die de grenzen van zijn genre opzoekt en verlegt. With THREADS, the harpist/composer connects his classical roots with the worldwide success as a soloist and the electronic music that brought him to the world of pop music. ‘After ten years of following my own path, I no longer want to choose between the worlds I know, I want to bring them together. THREADS is my attempt to delve deeper and take the audience along.’ The harp, the instrument in which Remy has long been regarded as one of the world’s greatest talents and innovators, forms the connective tissues between all these disciplines. In this performance, Remy utilizes loops, electronics, and his unparalleled virtuosity in playing his instrument. In collaboration with light and visual artist Jurjen Alkema, THREADS is a true audiovisual experience. Remy van Kesteren will debut the show during Oerol 2026 with ten performances on location.
