Over dit evenement

what happens after you die? Let’s draw it! In this workshop you will get familiar with some works of Jan Cleijne, who is an established comic book artist. After that, he will take you into a process of creating your own work, visualizing what might happen after you die. Most of the workshop will be about the participants sketching and designing, eventually baking it into a story, or a part of a story. The goal of this workshop will not be to have something finished, but rather to start something and to feel inspired to continue on your own later! You will be provided with basic drawing materials, but you’re also welcome to bring your own. [kop3]Bio[/kop3] Jan Cleijne (1977) is illustrator and comic artist with realistic-poetic drawing style and a strong focus on atmosphere and the human inner world. He illustrates children's books, concept art, futurist scenarios and bookcovers for printed media, museums, animated flm and theatre productions. As a comic maker he published several short stories, before making his debut as a graphic novelist with the internationally acclaimed Legends of the Tour (2014). Since then he has been working steadily on several graphic novel projects. Ervaringskracht (2025) is his most recent publication. Currently, Jan is working on a graphic adaptation of a novella by Adriaan van Dis: De Rat van Arras, scheduled for publication early 2027. Blind to appearances and distractions, The Seer notices what others overlook, seeing what cannot be seen with ordinary eyes. Through performances, talks, and workshops, the festival opens space for stories that dare to explore the uncomfortable, the unseen, and the unknown. From inner worlds to the edges of life an…
