The Amsterdam Storytelling Festival: Talk in Amsterdam
Over dit evenement
what hides behind all the layers of self? Inspired by Peer Gynt peeling an onion in search of its core, this talk explores the layers that make up our sense of self. Beneath our cultural, historical and psychological conditioning, is there an “I” that is truly our own? Every year, we organize exciting talks with artists of the festival, scientists, and experts in various disciplines. This year, the subjects we have chosen are informed by the theme of the Seer: the dark side of one' s psyche, seeing the impending future, and pondering what happens behind the veil of death. [kop3]About the Amsterdam Storytelling Festival[/kop3] When it gets dark and cold outside, it means one thing: it’s time to gather and warm our hearts with stories. This year, The Amsterdam Storytelling Festival invites you to meet The Seer — not as a fortune teller, but as a listener of truth. Blind to appearances and distractions, The Seer notices what others overlook, seeing what cannot be seen with ordinary eyes. Through performances, talks, and workshops, the festival opens space for stories that dare to explore the uncomfortable, the unseen, and the unknown. From inner worlds to the edges of life and death, from visions to imagination… unspoken truths, looming disasters, secrets behind the masks. The Seer knows. Who dares to listen?
